Kitchen's Work
Triangle

Many kitchen
layouts are based upon the work triangle, referring
to the configuration of range or countertop,
refrigerator, and sink. If you decide, when building
or renovating a kitchen, to create such a triangle,
make sure that the total of all three legs measures
no more than 26 feet, with each leg measuring between
four and nine feet (measure from the center-front of
each surface). Also, avoid having any leg of the
triangle intersect any other kitchen area, such as an
island, by more than 12 inches. This arrangement
ensures easy, comfortable access and saves steps when
preparing, cooking, and serving
meals.
